At BIG&BIH-October 2008, the Department of Export Promotion (DEP), the fair organizer, expects more than 750 producers and exporters of gifts, premiums, home decorative items, household products, home textiles, toys and novelties, stationery, and office equipment from Thailand and across Asia. Some of exhibitors to be presented at the up-coming fair are Decor Vivant Co., Ltd., one of Thailand’s leading producers and exporters of wooden decorative items and household products, Precious Memory Co., Ltd., an internationally recognized manufacturers of poly-resin gifts.
Inside Industry
The Ministry of Commerce anticipates that the export of Thailand’s lifestyle products in 2008 to grow by at least 5 percents. This prospect looks promising as the export figure of gifts, home decorative items, housewares, toys, stationery and office supplies has already reached USD 448.50 million during the first four months of this year, a 11.30 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
In 2007, the export of products in this sector alone generated a total of 1,712.84 million US dollars to the country, that is a 8.05 percent increase from the previous year.
