BIG&BIH still a favorite event for international
traders in
lifestyle business
The 26th edition of Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair 2008 or ‘BIG&BIH’, which drew its curtain recently last month, proves to be a favorite trade show for lifestyle products as it successfully attracted nearly 15,000 trade visitors including thousands of international buyers from 78 countries around the globe, despite the world’s financial crisis and warnings about political situation in Thailand.
Held on October 14-19 this year, BIG&BIH drew a total of 14,787 visitors on trade days (14-17 Oct) including 2,759 buyers from overseas, and 117,585 local buyers on public days (18-19 Oct). The top 10 overseas visiting countries are Japan, U.S.A., Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, Germany, United Kingdom, France, India and Hong Kong respectively.
The October show was, once again, praised by international visitors for its outstanding decoration of exhibiting booths as well as the remarkable designs and quality of products, while many of repeat buyers said they were impressed with the commitment of Thai entrepreneurs.
BIG&BIH-October 2008 was participated by 661 exhibitors from Thailand and beyond including Ghana, Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and France with a total of 1,772 exhibiting booths showcasing a vast variety of lifestyle products ranging from gifts, premiums, home decorative items, home textiles, handicrafts, houseware products, toys, stationery and office supplies and many more.
The next edition of BIG&BIH will be held on April 21-26, 2009 at Hall 1-8, IMPACT Exhibition and Convention Center, Muang Thong Thani. The first four days (Apr 21-24) are reserved for trade talks only, while the last two days (Apr 25-26) will be opened for the public.
